Partnering to Expand Scholarships for Students

The Federal Scholarship Tax Credit could create a significant new source of funding for schools and families across the country.

Schools play a critical role in helping students access opportunities and supporting families throughout the application process. BLOCS will work with participating schools to ensure that scholarships are distributed fairly, efficiently, and in accordance with federal program guidelines.

Which Schools Can Participate?

Virtually any K-12 school – public or private - provided the state has opted into the program.

How Schools Benefit

BLOCS FSTC program helps schools:

  • Expand access for families who need financial assistance

  • Create sources of funding for programs and services

  • Strengthen community partnerships

  • Provide more students with access to high-quality education

How the Program Would Work for Schools

  • BLOCS markets to potential FSTC donors

  • Donors contribute funds through BLOCS and designate the school(s) to receive those funds.

  • BLOCS provides tax credit confirmation to the donor

  • BLOCS aggregates all of the contributions to schools, tracks all of the audit and compliance details, and distributes funds to the receiving school(s)

Schools would not be responsible for fundraising for the scholarships themselves; instead, scholarship funds come from contributions to the BLOCS.
