John Steinmetz brings decades of technology and operations leadership to BLOCS as a member of its Board of Directors.

John recently retired as Chief Technology Officer of SEI Investments, capping a 30-year career with the Oaks based financial services and technology firm. He joined SEI in 1995 as a Product Manager, later serving as Technology Director for the Private Banking and Investment Advisor market units before being promoted to Vice President. In 2012, John was again promoted to Chief Technology Officer, a role in which he led SEI’s application development and technology infrastructure across its global business.

Before SEI, John spent 14 years at PECO Energy, where he held a series of information systems roles, including Group IS Manager for the Customer Service Business Line and project lead on major systems implementations. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Spring Garden College.

A 1977 graduate of LaSalle College High School, John returned to his alma mater just a year later to begin a long-tenured football coaching career spanning 45 years, his last nine as Head Coach of the Explorers. He was inducted into the 2026 Hall of Athletics at LaSalle in September.

John and his wife, MaryPat, raised four daughters together in Hatfield, PA, all of whom attended Mount St. Joseph’s Academy in Flourtown and share his passion for football. He is also active the Philadelphia community through the Union League of Philadelphia, St. Helen-Incarnation Independent Mission School’s Principals Advisory Council and is a member of the Maxwell Club Board to select the annual “Mini-Maxwell” award winners.
