BLOCS Webinar Wednesday: Preparing for the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit Program

Join us Wednesday, April 8th from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. as we discuss the upcoming Federal Scholarship Tax Credit program.

The Federal Scholarship Tax Credit (FSTC) represents a significant new opportunity to expand scholarship funding, allowing for a 100% federal tax credit for donations of up to $1,700 to Scholarship Granting Organizations. Whether you are a school leader or donor, this session will help you understand the potential impact of the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit and how BLOCS is preparing to support you and your students and families.

Jim Donahue, BLOCS' FSTC Program Coordinator, will provide an overview of the program and what it could mean for schools, scholarship organizations, and donors. Participants will learn how the federal credit is structured, how it complements existing PA tax credit programs, and how schools and organizations can begin preparing to participate.

Topics will include:

  • An overview of the proposed Federal Scholarship Tax Credit

  • How the credit would work for donors inside and outside PA

  • The role of Scholarship Granting Organizations

  • Potential opportunities for schools and families

  • Steps BLOCS is taking now to prepare BLOCS

Webinar Wednesday will take place on the second Wednesday of every month and is designed as a lunch-and-learn experience. The idea is simple: grab your lunch, log on, and join us for timely information, practical insights, and engaging conversation.

Each session will focus on relevant topics surrounding EITC, EDS, and related areas, with content tailored to what matters most to our community. We also welcome suggestions for future seminar topics and presenters as we continue to shape the series.
