The Philadelphia Catholic League is excited to announce that Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools (BLOCS) has agreed to become the presenting partner for the 2024 Girls’ & Boys’ Basketball Championships. The partnership is highlighted by a comprehensive sponsorship of the PCL Boys’ Basketball Semifinals and Girls’ & Boys’ Championship games at The Palestra.

School choice can be a polarizing – and often politicized – issue. Each new charter school that pops up provokes debate, funding toward private or Catholic institutions is challenged for not going toward public schools, and with each decision a parent makes, the potential criticisms seem endless. But truthfully, without this myriad of options, the education system can’t properly serve students in the way they need to be served. Why should a child’s future be determined by their ZIP code or their family’s financial standing?

Students at Mother Teresa Catholic School are known to write thank-you cards to a local charity called BLOCS around the holidays.

BLOCS, or 'Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools,' provides about 17,000 need-based scholarships to school children in the Philadelphia region each year.
