Fran Van Kirk was a Partner with Heidrick & Struggles and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, Financial Officers, Life Sciences and Professional Services Practices from 2005 to 2014. He also was Partner in Charge of the Philadelphia office for six years.

Fran came to Heidrick & Struggles from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP’s Philadelphia office, where he was the Office Managing Partner for ten years. With over 35 years with PwC , he was one of the firm’s senior client engagement partners. Fran’s client service experience involved large publicly held global manufacturing companies, such as GlaxoSmithKline, VF Corporation, C&D Technologies, Hercules Incorporated, Scott Paper, and West Pharmaceuticals. Fran was responsible, with another Partner, for the merger integration of Coopers & Lybrand and Price Waterhouse, the largest professional service firm merger in U.S. history. At the time of the merger, he also served as Managing Partner of the United States’ offices responsible for all of the firm’s 60 locations and was a member of the Management Committee and the Board of Partners. Fran participated in the firm’s international staff exchange program working in the London office for 20 months in the late 1970’s. Fran also served as a Staff Director to one of the Firm’s Vice Chairmen in the Boston office for two years in the mid 1980’s.

Fran received a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University. From 2005 to 2009, Fran served as a member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Finance and Risk Management Committee of PHH Corporation, a NYSE company. Fran is a member of the Board of Directors of Faith In The Future and BLOCS. Fran is a member of the President’s Advisory Council at Villanova University. Fran was previously a member of the Boards of the following organizations: The American Ireland Fund, The Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Philadelphia, WHYY and the YMCA of Greater Philadelphia and OMSSI Grade School. In addition, he Chaired the United Way’s Alexis de Tocqueville campaign for three years.

Fran and his wife, Alicia are the proud parents of 3 children and one son-in-law and loving grandparents to three grandchildren.
