The
Sponsor A Student program is designed to be a universal tuition
assistance program
providing
potential supporters several donor options, various gifting levels
and several different avenues through which to make their contributions.
The Sponsor A Student program is supported by the Office for Catholic
Education and BLOCS. The brainchild of Jerry Parsons, a former
BLOCS board member, this program is making a significant impact
on Catholic schools. During its first two years of existence,
more than $325,000 has been generated as a result of the Sponsor
A Student program.
Channels
through which a sponsor may make a donation in support of the
Sponsor A Student program are the Educational Improvement Tax
Credit (EITC), Alumni and Class Donations and designated Sponsor
A Student donations. Gift level options include annual donations
of full tuition for a secondary education student, a special education
student or an elementary education student. Donors have the option
to designate their sponsorship to a specific school or allow BLOCS
to identify where the greatest needs lie. Contributions can be
made monthly, quarterly or annually.
